Strange lights

Last night the weather turned pretty dramatic after a hot sunny day. We had so much rain our garden looked like Venice after five minutes, and every other second there were immense lightning bolts across the sky. I loved it, and I was so amazed I forgot to take photos while it was still good, but I got a few when the storm had drifted out over the ocean. It takes unbelievable amounts of patience and arm muscle to capture lightning. I think I was standing in the doorway for about thirty minutes clutching my camera and I got no lightning bolts. But I did get some pretty neat ones of mysterious-looking lights.

Even though there were no actual lightning bolts in my photos I still think they turned out well. They make me think of the beginning of some ancient horror movie. And wouldn't they make awesome prints?

TADAA!

The weather last night was really exciting, that's why I was surprised to wake up to the greyest day of my life this morning. It feels like the entire world woke up with a huge gloomy hangover. *sigh* I need more coffee.
